At rest is a series of acrylic paintings on canvas created between September 2017 and March 2018. This body of work is a contemplation on a single subject. Furthermore, this is an investigation of the ways one character can be presented once it has been removed from an explicative narrative. Each painting depicts a whippet, one of the most popular breeds of racing dog in Europe and North America. The title of the collection is a reference to the state of the sleeping subject within each composition.
